How it works

Most "film grain" filters are a static noise texture laid on top at a fixed opacity. FilmGrainLab generates grain from scratch for every photo: irregular, clustered particles that respond to your image's own shadows and highlights, the way silver-halide crystals actually respond to light. Move the ISO dial and the grain's structure changes, not just its strength.

No. Everything runs locally in your browser with WebGL2 — your photo never leaves your device.
What image formats does it support?
Any image your browser can open (JPG, PNG, WebP, and more) as input. Export is a high-quality JPG.
Is there a Mac or Windows app?
Not right now — FilmGrainLab runs entirely in the browser, on any platform with WebGL2 support (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox).
